I love, accept  and respect myself

I can accomplish anything because, with God, all things are possible

I am powerful and strong, for God is on my side, and Christ lives in me

I am one of a kind, authentic, a priceless masterpiece, and there is no one like me

I aspire greatness and achieve greatness

I am more than enough, and I am more than a conquer

I strive for success, and quitting is not for me

Weird or Different?

What does the word weird mean?

To many people, it is an insult. A word used to belittle, put down and degrade someone. The word is usually used towards someone different, not the norm. This same word is also defined in Scottish as a person of destiny. I believe being a person of destiny is not a bad thing.

When I think of the word weird, I think of the acronym W.E.I.R.D which stands for:

            Wonderful, Exciting, Interesting, Real, Different.

The problem is not many people want to be different, stand out, or be a leader because it is easier to follow. We crave to fit in, to belong, to be the same, But I am here to say nothing is wrong with being different; nothing is wrong with being your own person. To get ahead in life, you don't do what everyone else is doing.

The most successful people in life were probably called weird and insulted because they were different. Let's change the way we use the word. Let's change being afraid of being different.

Think of the greatest inventions ever made, like the wheel, the telephone, and other great inventions. The inventions were made by people I believe were different.

The invention of the wheel, for example, we use wheels for cars, airplanes, buses, trains, and wheelchairs, but while people were walking, someone was different and made chariots instead of walking.

Think of the person who thought of bottled water, water is free, and it is weird for a person to sell water.

What about food, the food we eat and love comes from recipes that, before they were made, we would have thought were weird. For example, potato salad, I believe that recipe was not widely received.

My point is being different is not a bad thing. People are called weird because they are different. But we are all different; God didn't make us all the same. We have different backgrounds, skin tones, hair types, hair colors, different heights, and weights. We talk differently and have different personalities, We all are different, and our differences make us unique.

So don't be afraid of being different, don't be afraid of being a person of destiny. God has a purpose and a plan for you, something only you can do. What makes you different, what makes you unique, is what God will use to bless you and bless others. You don't know what is in your future; what you think is a flaw could be your blessing. Be unique and be proud of it.

May I pray for you?

Father God,

I pray for the person reading this blog post.

I pray that You, oh Lord will bless them.

Be with them and let them know that You, Lord are on their side

I pray that they embrace what makes them unique.

I pray that they would see how important they are to You, God.

I pray that doors will open for them

Doors that lead to their destiny.

I pray that blessings will follow them.

Let the things they think is a flaw or weird be the thing that blesses them.

Let them know that they are made perfect in Your eyes, Lord

And they are Your greatest masterpiece

I pray that they see how important they are

I pray, Lord, that they know they are loved and that they feel Your love

I pray for protection, provisions, and peace for the person reading this blog

AMEN

Let God Fight Your Battles

One day I  was listening to a song called surrounded (fight my battles) by Upperroom.

I was doing boxing motions every time the song said, "this is how I fight my battles." While doing that, I saw my aunt singing along, but she had her hands in a prayer position. It made me think. My boxing said I am fighting my battles, while my aunt said God is fighting her battles.

Let God fight your battles. God knows everything, and He knows how to fight for you. God knows your future, and your future is bright. God wants to fight the battles for you.

Imagine you have a bodyguard. You have a huge, strong, Armed, well-skilled bodyguard. When trouble comes, would you try to fight all by yourself, or would you let your very willing bodyguard take care of it for you?

God is always on your side, and He wants to take care of you. He wants you happy, whole, and free from every strife. Don't stress over any troubles that come your way. God has you; He knows all you are going through. God will take care of you; you must always believe that.

In the bible, Matthew 6:25-35 (using the message translation MSG)

It says:

25 "If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body.
26 Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.
27 "Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch?
28 All this time and money wasted on fashion - do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop,
29 but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.
30 "If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers - most of which are never even seen - don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?
31 What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving.
32 People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.
33 Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

34 "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Below I put a message from Bishop T.D Jakes called Be Seated. I put this message because that is what we need to do just sit down and let God take care of it.

Here is the song surrounded by Upperroom:

You are Valuable

Right now, things are hard for lots of people.

I just want to tell you, Don't give up!
There is a God who is truly in love with you, and He cares for you.
I don't know your story, what you have been through, what you have done.
I do know that God loves you, all of you.
He loves you for who you are because you are His child.
You are God's beloved; God loves you with everlasting love.
You, Yes, you are important to God.
Believe it, for it is true.
The creator of everything knows and loves you
Jesus loves you so much He died for you.
Bishop Dale Bronner
that said something that stuck with me

"What did you do to ever make Jesus start loving you?
If you really think about it, there is nothing that you did to make Him start loving you.
So there is nothing you can do to make Him stop loving you. He loves you!
Can you imagine that you had a two-carat diamond ring wrapped in a platinum setting?
This ring you love it and let's say you were walking and your ring slips off your finger and falls in the mud.
Would you love this ring less because it has mud on it? Its value has not been diminished."

God loves you

Now Just like the ring
If you had a 100 dollar bill and you crumbled it in a ball, threw it on the floor, and stomp on it a lot of times.
 Does that change its value?
No! I even go as far as what if you ripped the bill in half.
I spend money that was taped up.
The value of the bill doesn't change because of what it endured.
No matter what you've been through how far you think you have gone.
You have value and you are important.

Pastor Tye Tribbett did a demonstration with a 20 dollar bill.

You must know your value is not defined by what you go through or what you have done. You are valuable and like the ring and the 100 dollar bill would be still valuable to you despite what happened to it. You are valuable to God and there is nothing you can do to change your value.

There is a video of a church skit that speaks to my soul every time I see it. It shows no matter how far we go we can come back to our Father.

Let me pray with you:

Father, I pray for every person that reads this blog post.
I pray that they will believe that they are loved.
They are valuable and important.
I pray that you will bless them and the blessing will follow them everywhere they go.
I pray that they come closer to you and know that You, Father are always for them never against them.
Let them know Lord that you can make a way even when it seems like there is no way.
Lord thank you for keeping them, protecting them, and always being good. For you are a good Father.
I pray that they will see your goodness and be in the overflow.
Be with them Father as you always are
AMEN

Loss and mourning

I found a reading plan on The Bible App called Loss by Church of the Valley that has great reading material on loss.  Some of my writing is inspired by the Loss reading plan.

I've been wanting to do a post on loss but wasn't sure what to say or how to approach the subject. I know lots of people have been going through loss and this post is for the people who are in grief and mourning of losing a loved one.

Losing anything is hard even as a child, a kid will cry real tears, long sobs over losing a toy or something cherished. To lose something is difficult, a job, car but nothing compares to the loss of a loved one.

I want you to know before I go on any further that God sees that you are hurting. He sees your tears. He knows that you are in mourning and God cares for He cares for you. God loves you!!!! You may not want to hear this right now. You may be thinking why my loved one?  I do not know why and I am truly sorry for your loss. You may cry and mourn but don't let settle in.  Do not be angry with God. You must know that God is on your side and wants the best for you.

When something goes wrong, humans have this natural tendency to want to blame someone. We try to find someone to direct our anger and frustration at and many times that is God.

"If God is all-powerful, then surely He could have stopped this." we think to ourselves.

But God created us, His children to love, and gave us the capacity to have a loving relationship with Him, by giving us a choice to choose Him. We have a choice to be with God and where there is a choice there is a potential for pain. If God used his all-powerful nature to stop all our tragedy we face it would be removing choice from the equation and that would remove real love.

God knows you are hurting but blaming God for your pain and loss will only drive you further from him. God is on your side and wants to help you through this. Remember to pray to God about how you feel, talk about your feelings to someone you trust. You can channel your feelings into a creative outlet like writing, draw, paint, sing positive songs, make yourself laugh. You must not feel guilty to smile or laugh. In time you will find it easier to smile and laugh again.
